David L. Byrd was born September 27, 1945 and departed this life Tuesday, August 14, 2018 reaching the age of 72 years. He was the son of the late Milo and Beatrice (Robinson) Byrd.

He married Carmen Herrera and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Carmen Byrd; 1 son, Frederick Byrd; 2 daughters, Richelle Elton of Glassport, PA and Stacey Newton of Covington, GA; 8 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 4 brothers, Eugene, Joseph, Darl, and Lee Byrd.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2018 between 11 am - 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:  Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
