Darren Apgar was born August 23, 1970, and departed this life Thursday, April 14, 2022, reaching the age of 51 years. He was the son of Mary Jo Metcalfe and (the late) Kenneth Apgar, Sr.

He is survived by 1 son, Cody Apgar; 2 daughters, Rebecca Sullivan and Emily Shaffer; 3 stepsons, Joseph and David Houp and Brandon Lay; 2 stepdaughters, April Coffey and Janie Kelly; girlfriend, Betty Hale; his mother, Mary Jo Metcalf and stepfather, Mount Joy Metcalf; 2 brothers, Ken Apgar, Jr. and Steven Apgar; 2 sisters, Amy Thomas and Jody Fultz; and 8 grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 1 stepson, Jason Houp.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2022, between 1 pm – 3 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, at 3 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel.
