Danny Kay Sweet

Danny Kay Sweet was born October 27, 1958, and departed this life Saturday, April 4, 2026, reaching the age of 67 years. He was the son of the late Arlin and Elizabeth (Fugate) Sweet.

He is survived by: four daughters, Jessica Bertram (Bill), Jacqueline Piercy (Chris), Arlene Guinn (Gabe), and Kelsey Thompson (Brandon Gehring); seven grandchildren, Dylan Piercy, Jacob Piercy, Eli Guinn, Jade Guinn, Madison Bertram, Juliette Gehring, and Charlotte Gehring; and one great grandchild, Kipton Piercy. He is also survived by: two brothers, Bro. Rayburn Sweet (Blanche) and Paul Sweet (Katrina); and three sisters, Lora Elam Dolen (Joe), Mary Barrier (Robert), and Judy Denney; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Arlin and Elizabeth Sweet, he was preceded in death by: four brothers, Eddie, Johnnie, Grady, and Jimmy Sweet; and three sisters, Helen “Kathy” Parrigin, Martha Carton, and Sandy Carrender.

Danny had a generous, giving heart; he loved to fish and host fish frys, and entertain guests. More than anything he loved his daughters.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
