IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Danny Lee
Kinnett
January 24, 1938 – May 6, 2023
Danny Lee Kinnett was born January 24, 1938, and departed this life Saturday, May 6, 2023, reaching the age of 85 years. He was the son of the late John Preston and Ethel (Harmon) Kinnett.
He is survived by: his wife, Geraldine "Geri" Kinnett; one son, Dwight Kinnett (Pandora Gregory); one daughter, Pam Fierros (Steven); and two 2 grandchildren, Avery Leigh Fierros and Alexander Fierros.
He is also survived by: one brother, Phillip Kinnett; one sister, Janice Bell; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, John and Ethel Kinnett, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley McGinnis.
He was a jack of all trades, from working with his father and brother building houses across Wayne County, creating his own excavation and trucking company, training horses and eventually being the Wayne County Road Supervisor.
He would say though his greatest accomplishment was his two grandchildren. Teaching mechanics and excavation to Alex and sharing his knowledge and love of horses with Avery. He was also known to allow ice cream for breakfast while babysitting.
Truck trading was his passion during retirement. Spending time with his DQ friends was his pastime. He always had a joke or comment to make people laugh. He leaves a long list of people he considered his friends, a wife that took great care of him during his health challenges, and a family that will miss his guidance, humor, and unwavering love.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 10 am at Elk Spring Cemetery Shelter with burial to follow. Full military honors were provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Mountain View Baptist Camp
Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
