Cynthia Poore was born August 15, 1965,and departed this life Tuesday, January 13, 2026, reaching the age of 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Geneva (Brown) Ballenger.

She married William Howard "Bubby" Poore and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by one sister, Kathy Daffron; honorary son, Calvin Godsey (Patience); and honorary grandkids, Byron, Trinity, Heavenleigh, King, Rico, Cali, Andi, and Gracie; numerous other family, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Bubby Poore; one son, Justin Poore; one daughter, Senja Poore; two brothers, Randy and Mitchell Ballenger; and three sisters, Patricia Jella, Debbie Dautrich, and Geneva Ford.

Her home was always open, filled with love, music, laughter, and wisdom. Cynthia's legacy isn't just in the memories but in the kindness she inspired in others; she believed the world always needed one more kind-hearted person, and she was that for so many. Her love of the Lord was evident in the way she showed grace, mercy, and compassion for those who may have been cast out by others. Her laugh and smile could surely brighten up the darkest room. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, between 12 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to:  Cynthia Poore Memorial Fund, c/o Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.
