Curtis Douglas "Doug" Southwood was born May 27, 1960 and departed this life Wednesday, August 29, 2012 reaching the age of 52. He was the son of the late Curtis and Emilee (Richardson) Southwood.

He was united in marriage to Judy Mae Brown and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: his parents, Curtis and Emilee (Richardson) Southwood; 2 children, Richard Southwood, Shannon Leigh (Steve) Johnson, and Kelly Dawn (Tommy) Nichols; 1 brother, Dwayne (Lana) Southwood; 3 grandchildren; 4 nieces and 3 nephews; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Judy Southwood; 1 brother, Richard Southwood; and 1 grandson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 3, 2012 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Dwayne Southwood officiating. Burial will be in Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery.
