Connie Irene Abbott Denney was born October 19, 1951, and departed this life Friday, February 4, 2022, reaching the age of 70 years. She was the daughter of the late Smiley and Irene (Slagle) Abbott.

She is survived by: her husband, James E. Denney; one son, David James Denney; one daughter, Sherry Savage (Jamie Matthews); 6 grandchildren, Marissa Bell, Jessie Matthews, Dustin Savage, Raylee Carrender, Taylor Oakley, and Dalton Oakley. She is also survived by: 1 brother, Jeremy Abbott; 2 sisters, Nancy (Jess) Garner and Joann (Van) Ramsey; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Melissa West; and two brothers, Ronnie Lee and William "Bill" Abbott.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
