Clodie McDowell was born July 12, 1910 and departed this life Tuesday, March 18, 2008 reaching the age of 97 years. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Rankin and Florence Tuggle Rankin.

She married William McDowell and to this union five children were born.

She is survived by: three daughters- Sally Phelps of Georgetown, KY, Nancy Smith of Goshen, KY and Betty Ragan of Somerset, KY, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband- William McDowell, two daughters- Mary Blevins and Shirley Rogers, ten brothers- "Buddy" Will, "Mutt" Laurence, Ed, Howard, Fred, Gilbert, Pete, Hugh, Earl, and Logan Rankin, and one sister- Lillian Shearer.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation: Thursday, March 20th between 6 - 9 pm
Funeral Service: Friday, March 21st at 11 am
Interment: Elk Spring Cemetery
