Cletis Piercy was born April 10, 1930 and departed this life Saturday, March 26, 2016 reaching the age of 85 years. He was the son of the late Sam and Minnie (Hoover) Piercy.

He is survived by: one daughter, Kim (John) East; and one grandson, Samuel Wright; one sister, Mary Eileen Hall; and one nephew, Jimmy Hall; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Sam and Minnie Piercy, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Carolyn (Richardson) Piercy;one brother, Howard Piercy; and two sisters, Imogene Scifres and Nell Ferguson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 12 Noon to 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will also be Tuesday at 2 pm. in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Full military honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 105.
