Claude Ray Edwards was born August 3, 1921 and departed this life June 14, 2009 reaching the age of 87 years. He was the son of the late Harve and Laura (Winchester) Edwards.

He is survived by: his wife, Maxine Edwards of Somerset, KY, 3 daughters, Doris Jones of Bronston, KY, Joyce Cooper of Indianapolis, IN, and Marilyn Sue Bradley of Mt. Pelier, IN, 1 step daughter, Lavina Grant of Berea, KY, and 1 step son, Anthony Merritt. He is also survived by: 9 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Harve and Laura Edwards, he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Verda Lee Edwards, 1 daughter, Alice Yencer, and 1 granddaughter, Amy Bradley, and several brothers and sisters.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: Tuesday, June 16th after 5 pm
Funeral Service: Wednesday, June 17th at 1 pm
Interment: Blue John Cemetery
