Clara Preat, of Kodak, Tennessee, passed away on May 17, 2023.  Clara had recently been diagnosed with a fast-spreading lung cancer.

Clara was born on July 2, 1952, in Monticello, Kentucky.  She was the fourth of six children born to Cephas and Treva (Piercy) Pittman.  Clara was united in marriage on October 17, 1970 to Leroy Preat in Beckly, West Virginia.  To this union two sons were born.

Clara was a lifelong collector-she collected all sorts of things.  She loved yard sales, flea markets and junk stores.  Clara was always up for an adventure "junking" with her best friend Donna.  Clara was dedicated to her family, her friends, and her pets.  She regularly attended Pleasant View Church when she lived in Monticello and as often as possible when she was in town after her move to Tennessee.

Clara preceded in death by her parents, Cephas and Treva Pittman, one brother, Roy Kay Pittman, one sister, Faye (Pittman) Burton, her husband, Leroy Preat, and her special companion Glenn Taylor.

Clara is survived by her sons James (Angela) Preat of Sevierville and Leo (Terri) Preat of Monticello and her fiancé Timothy Sleeth, of Kodak.  Clara also leaves behind eight grandchildren, David Moravec (Billyjean) of Monticello, Melissa Freeman (Jamal) of Havelock, North Carolina, Dakota Bertram (Trevor), Alexandra Preat and Remmy Preat all of Sevierville, Chase, Bailey and Ty Preat of Monticello; six great-grandchildren, Kendall, Mia, Cora, Ella, Reagan and Hudson.  She also leaves behind one sister Susan (Richard) Adams and one brother Billy (Jennifer) Pittman as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, family and neighbors that will mourn her passing.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 1 pm at the Gap Creek Cemetery with burial to follow.
