Charlene Kay Lawson was born June 30, 1952, and departed this life Thursday, July 17, 2025, reaching the age of 73 years. She was the daughter of the late Arnold R. and Bonnie Jane (Watson) Winchester.

She is survived by:  her husband, James Lawson: three children, James G. Lawson (Rebecca), Teresa Lawson, and Becky Woods (Davey); nine grandchildren, Sarah Durham, Kayleigh Lawson, Joshua Lawson (Lexus Boston), Austin Durham, Robert Lawson (Laura Tyrell), Bonnie Lawson (Derrick Smith), Nathan Stinson (Meghan), Cameron Woods, and Jackson Woods; and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by two aunts, Nellie McQueary and Clora Moore; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Arnold and Bonnie Jane Winchester, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Jean Pardue.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
