Obituary

Cecil Ray Burnett, born February 12, 1957, departed this life on July 1, 2025, reaching the age of 68.

He was the son of the late Denver Ray Burnett and the late Eva Parmley Burnett Whitt.

He survived by his loving wife Linda Shelton Burnett of 51 years. A son Tony (Kimberly) Burnett, a Daughter Tonya Burnett. Grandchildren; KateLynne (Thomas) Tucker, Bryanna (Brandon) Hunley, Toni (Austin) Slagle, Jeremiah (Raychel) Burnett, Alexia (Jerrett) Vaughn, Jaxen Watkins and Bobby Lee Watkins. Also Three Great Grandchildren, JackLynne Tucker, Brantlee Tucker and Paxton (Beanie) Hunley. Also survived by a brother Calvin Bruce (Susan) Burnett and a sister Joyce Burnett (Gary Casada). And Many Nieces and Nephews.

He was Retired U.S Military have served for 20 years.

In his trucking years of 20 years, he never met a stranger. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Denver Ray Burnett and Eva Parmley Burnett Whitt. Also, a daughter Sharon Lynn Burnett and one brother Bobby Lee Burnett.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2025, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Bethel Cemetery.  Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
