IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Catherine Ellen
Soderholm
April 22, 1918 – May 24, 2019
Catherine "Kay" Ellen Soderholm went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2019 at the age of 101. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Margaret Dawn Granger, husband, Lt. Colonel Glenn E. Soderholm and brother James Cummings (Evelyn).
Kay retired from Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY and came to her adopted home of Lexington, KY in 1975. Kay became a tireless volunteer at Saint Joseph Hospital (even "christening" the first trauma air ambulance) and Pax Christi Church in Lexington where she served in several capacities over many years. She was a member of Saint Peter Church in Monticello.
Kay's wit, sophisticated style and love of animals brought her close to her many friends and admirers. She loved to entertain and be surrounded by her friends and family.
Kay is survived by her son-in-law, Ray Granger; grandchildren, Kathleen Dawn Amburgey (Samuel) and George Bernard Sorenson (Diana); great grandchildren, Christopher Lee Amburgery (Kristina), Parker Hamilton Sorenson, Mackenzie Ann Sorenson; great-great grandchild, Kamryn Rileigh Amburgey; and nephew, retired Commander Walter J. Cummings (Linda).
Her family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Golden Years Nursing Home in Monticello, KY for their loving care over the past eleven years. Kay will be buried at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County, Kentucky.
