Catha Watson Sutton was born June 27, 1948 and departed this life on Sunday February 14, 2021 reaching the age of 72 years. She was the daughter of the late, John Otto Watson and Algie Cora (Martin) Watson.

She is survived by: her husband of  53 years, Goble Sutton; 1 son, Timothy Wayne Sutton; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Sutton and David Austin Sutton, Shelbie Powers and Casey Nicholas all of Somerset and Tyler Sutton of Nancy; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Galen Reed Watson of Science Hill , John Drexel Watson of Monticello; 1 sister, Sevella Upchurch, of Indianapolis, Indiana; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by: 1 son, Warren David Sutton; 5 brothers, Rayola, Phillip, Ellis, Bill, and Jay Watson; and 1 sister, Sylvia McFalls.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, relative and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 between 1pm - 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Davis Chapel Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
