With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Carolyn Elaine Upchurch, who entered into eternal rest on July 15, 2026. Born in Monticello, Kentucky, in 1946, Elaine lived a life centered on love, kindness, unwavering devotion to her family and friends, and a steadfast faith in God.

Elaine was the beloved daughter of the late Jack and Christine Morris. She shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Gale Upchurch, building a life filled with unwavering love, cherished traditions, and countless treasured memories. Their enduring marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, faith, and partnership.

Elaine faithfully attended New Charity Baptist Church, Elaine’s Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She found comfort and strength in God’s Word and faithfully enjoyed reading her Bible each day. Her faith was reflected in the compassion, generosity, and kindness she extended to everyone she met.

She was a loving and devoted mother to Sandi Upchurch Dick and Trace Upchurch (Amy Upchurch). Her greatest blessing in life was being “Mama Tookie” to her five treasured grandchildren: Zackary Upchurch, Natalie Dick, Mackenzi Upchurch, Kelci Upchurch, and Nathaniel Upchurch. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit.

Elaine had a remarkable gift for making every person feel remembered and valued. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate someone’s birthday with a thoughtful card, message, or kind words, a simple gesture that reflected the love she carried for others. She found joy in gathering with friends for luncheons, searching for hidden treasures while antiquing, decorating her home with timeless charm, and traveling to explore historic sites that fascinated her. Yet above all else, nothing brought Elaine greater happiness than spending time with those she loved. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a family meal, or an ordinary afternoon together, she treasured every moment and created memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Elaine’s legacy is one of compassion, grace, and unconditional love. She taught those around her the importance of celebrating life’s simple moments, cherishing family, and making others feel special. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the faith she lived by, and the memories she created will continue to bring comfort and inspiration for generations to come.

The family finds peace in knowing Elaine is reunited with her beloved parents and rests in the loving embrace of her Savior. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
