Carl Francis Davis was born January 13, 1940 and departed this life Sunday, October 29, 2023 reaching the age of 83 years. He was the father of Janie Davis Hicks and Jerri Davis (Randy) Shoemaker. Carl was the son of the late Arthur and Edna Steele Davis of the Slat community.

In addition to his daughters, Carl was survived by his granddaughters Chelsea, Emily, Paige and Sadie and his expected great-grandson Beck; his brother Calvin Davis and his sister Joyce Skibba. Along with a host of family and friends, his white horse Dolly, all his farm animals and 21 tractors who will mourn his passing

After retiring from the boys camp after 29 years, Carl spent his time farming, traveling the country, and collecting an array of tractors. Whether you met Carl on the farm or at Dairy Queen, you were surely blessed with a "Feel Bad" story and some wise words of advice.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
