Curley was born in Windy, KY on April 3, 1941 to John Bell Ragan and Bertha Guffey Ragan, the youngest of 12 children. February 1969, he accepted the Lord as his Savior at the Highway Holiness Church. He went home to sing with the angels in Heaven on July 24, 2010, reaching the age of 69. He married the love of his life on October 6, 1962 and raised three children in a loving Christian home. He was their rock, someone to always lean on and come to for anything. Then the joys of his world, his grandchildren, came into his life and he was forever putty in their hands. He would make sure his family was always taken care of.
He enjoyed going to church, singing, tinkering with small engines, his birds and camping. He was an avid UK fan and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Especially the Wayne County Basketball and Football team, where he would always start the games off with his "Play Ball" yell. He was such an avid fan that he was named the #1 Fan of the year in 2007 for the Wayne County Girl's Basketball team.
