CARRIE MARCUM was born July 16, 1907 and departed this life August 24, 2006 reaching the age of 99 years. She was the daughter of the late Sam Jones and Ida Sheffield Jones.

She was united in marriage to John Roe Marcum and to this union eight children were born.

She is survived by one son, Donald Marcum of Windfall, IN; five daughters, Flonnie Guffey of New Castle, IN, Iva Simpson of Windfall, IN, Golda DeRossett of Albany, KY, Barbara Ward of Tipton, IN, and Betty F. Marcum of Monticello, KY; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 22 great great- grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Myrtie Weston of New Castle, IN, Opal Marcum of Westfield, IN, and Adel Aspaugh of North Vernon, IN; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roe Marcum; her parents, Sam and Ida Jones; two sons, Robert and Everett Marcum; one brother, Elmer Jones; and two sisters, Jewell Clark and Matilda Owens; and two grandsons.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Fairview for many years and the Church of Christ at Monticello as long as she was able to attend. She loved her family very much and enjoyed reading her Bible everyday and making quilts for her family. Her sharp mind at 99 years old was amazing to everyone.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
