Bygie Wilburn Jones was born January 23, 1933 to the late James Harrison Jones and Lizzie Marie Crabtree Jones. He departed this life on August 19, 2020, reaching the age of 87 years old.

He married Lillian Marie Chriswell on December 19, 1953 and to this union 2 children were born.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra June Jones Dobbs (Gary); son-in-law, Jerry Keeton; sister-in-law, Betty Morris; granddaughters, Tabethia Dobbs Dabbelt (Chris) and Emily Keeton Hopper (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Hailey, Hannah, and Alyssa Gregory, Madison and Brian Dabbelt, Jazzlyn and Gabe Rigney, and Eva Hopper; sisters, Ruby Edwards and Omie Shearer; brothers, Paul Jones, Kelley Jones, Claude Jones, and Frank Jones.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; one daughter, Eva Nadine Jones Keeton; two brothers, Estil Jones and Kyle Jones.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He farmed in tobacco, cut timber, and drove a log truck at McCutchen and Pyles Lumber Mill for many years.

He loved woodworking, building things, and collecting antiques. He loved to ride his 4-Wheeler and hang out at the cabin with his brothers. Most of all, he loved his family and all the get togethers especially at the old cabin.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2020 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Sandusky Cemetery.
