Bruce W. Correll was born May 19, 1935, and departed this life Wednesday, July 3, 2024, reaching the age of 89 years. He was the son of the late Otis and Rose (Stephens) Correll.

He is survived by: one son, Danny Correll (Rebecca); one daughter, Kathy Parmley; three grandchildren, Ivan Wilson Parmley (Haley), Anastasia Ruth Parmley, and Kalyssa Patrice Parmley; three great grandchildren, Dalton Parmley, Henry Parmley, and Judson Parmley.

He is also survived by:  four brothers, Robert Correll (Jeannie), Richard Correll, Glen Correll (Betty Jo), and Dale Correll (Velma); and one sister, Pauline Roush (Jack); and sister-in-law, Janice Correll; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife of 70 years, Ruby Correll, one great grandchild, Lennox Jay Parmley; and two brothers, Joe Correll (Delores) and Ralph Correll.

Bruce was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He retired from the State Highway Department where he worked as a radio engineer. He was the engineer at WFLW/WKYM radio station for many years. He enjoyed flying airplanes; building and flying (crashing mostly) radio controlled airplanes. He was an excellent Rook player.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2024, 2024 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105 at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
