Brenda Young was born February 24, 1955, and departed this life Saturday, June 22, 2024, reaching the age of 69 years. She was the daughter of the late William Luther and Maude (Poore) Brumley.

She is survived by: her husband, James Ingram Young; one son, James Ray Young (Amber); two grandsons, Brandon Young (Morgan) and Kayden Young; one granddaughter, Jaycee Young; and two great grandchildren, AnnaLee and Elizabeth Kate. She is also survived by:  one brother, Billy Brumley; and two sisters, Helen Hale (William) and Mary Hill; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one sister, Sherry Brumley; and one brother, Roy Dale.

Brenda enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her great granddaughters. She was known for her kind and giving heart and the love she had for her family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
