Bonnie May Slagle

The family of Bonnie May Crabtree Slagle is deeply saddened to announce her passing on August 14, 2026. Born on May 10,1944, in Monticello, Kentucky, Bonnie lived a life filled with laughter, generosity, and love for her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Menville and Grace Crabtree, and her husband, James Slagle, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda (Eddie) Kempton; her grandchildren, Matthew (Erica) Kempton and Kassy (Anthony) Kempton; her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Kyleigh Kempton, Ashton Lowe, Zoe Blevins, and Aubrey Morrow, her brothers and sisters, Joe (Karen) Crabtree, Virginia (Kay) Blevins, Rita (Gerald) Brown, and Steve Crabtree, and her many family and friends.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 between 11 am-1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Springs Cemetery.
