Bobby Joe Lair, Sr. was born June 9, 1935, and departed this life Wednesday, November 15, 2023, reaching the age of 88 years. He was the son of the late Willie Ed Lair and Martha Elizabeth (Jones) Lair.

He is survived by: his wife, Loretta Lair; his grandchildren, Coty Lair (Mariah) and Chelsea Humble; and great grandchildren, Bentlee and Elleigh Lair, Jaylee Gregory, Hadlee Lair and Skyler Humble. He is also survived by: one brother, Skipper Lair; and one sister, Betty Smith; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Bobby Joe Lair, Jr.; and one brother, Jack Lair.

Bobby was a U.S. Navy Veteran, who served his country proudly for over 20 years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.  Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
