Bob, better known as Arnold, Slaven was born April 4, 1945 and departed this life on Saturday, January 3, 2015 having reached the age of 69 years. He was the son of the late Earl and Lytha (Dishman) Slaven.

He is survived by: his wife, Sue Slaven; three sons, Rob Slaven (wife Laura) of Monticello, KY, James Arnold Slaven of Monticello, KY, James Ray Slaven (wife Lisa) of Radcliffe, KY, one stepson, Eric Smith (wife Charmain) of Ft. Myers, FL; 1 stepdaughter, Portia Eden (husband Christopher) of Apex, NC; 2 brothers, Leonard and Jerry Slaven, both of Monticello, KY; and 2 sisters, Joyce Carter of Monticello, KY and Glenna Painter of Hopkinsville, GA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandkids.

In addition to his parents Earl and Lytha Slaven, he is also preceded in death by 1 sister, Georgia Slaven.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 11AM to 1PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 1PM in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Ragan officiated. Burial will follow in the Dishman Cemetery.
