BILLY FOREST SLOAN was born September 19th, 1930 in the Hidalgo community of Wayne County, Kentucky and departed this life Saturday, October 20th, 2007 reaching the age of 77 years. He was the son of the late Clarence E. Sloan and Zella Lee Bates Sloan.
He was united in marriage to Elsie Winchester Sloan and to this union four children were born.
He is survived by his wife Elsie, one son-Jerry (Cindy) Sloan of Monticello, KY; three daughters- Joann (Doug) Wilson of Somerset, KY, Joyce (Danny K.) Bell and Mollie (Phillip) Dick, both of Monticello, KY. He is survived by 9 grandchildren-Shawn (Rebecca) Wilson, Stacie (Chris) Elam, Matthew Bell, Chris (Melissa) Sloan, Benton and James Barton Sloan, Felisha (Gary) Thompson, Laura (James) Barnes and Rebecca Dick. He is survived by 5 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by two step-brothers-Charles and Garmon Hurt of Anderson, IN., along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-Don Sloan and one sister-Sybil Sloan.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM on Sunday, October 21st, 2007 in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Monday, October 22nd at 8:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church until the funeral hour at 11:00 AM.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Monday, October 22nd, 2007 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Keith McKim and Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating.
Interment: Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
