Billy Rufus Morris was born March 30, 1942, and departed this life Tuesday, May 9, 2023, reaching the age of 81 years. He was the son of the late Virgil and Dorothy (Savage) Morris.

He is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Josephine Morris; children, Tim Peercy, Billy Joe Morris (Marilyn), Tonya Morris (Jarrad), Chris Acrey (Krista), Jonathan Dobbs (Susan), Derik Dobbs (KaTarra), Cody Morris (Ashley), and Trint Morris (Heather); one brother, Freddie Morris; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Virgil and Dorothy Morris, he was preceded in death by: one son, Terry Morris; one granddaughter, Kelly Maire Acrey; one brother, Howard "Cobbie" Morris; and two sisters, Betty Morris and Barbara Johnson.

Billy enjoyed fishing, farming, coon hunting and mushroom hunting in the Spring.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
