Billy Joe Morgan was born January 4, 1950, and departed this life July 30, 2024, reaching the age of 74 years. He was the son of the late Charles Noble and Maude (Piercy) Morgan.

He is survived by: his wife, Mary Anne Morgan; four children, Lisa Morgan Powell (J.B.) Rick Morgan (Dr. Stephanie Southard), James Meece (Verna), and Robert Meece (Heather); and 13 grandchildren, Matthew Gregory (Alli), Dillon Morgan (Amanda), Racheal Smedley (Tony), Hunter, Jasper, and Tanya Morgan, Zachary Meece (Rebekah Mize), Nicholas, Ty, and Nataleigh Meece, Connor Meece, Whitney Hicks (Greg), and Brandon Powell (Erin), and grandson-in-law, Cody Hancock; and 10 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by: one brother, Gary Morgan; and his mother-in-law, Mary Auxier Hale; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Charles and Maude Morgan, he was preceded in death by: one son, Billy Dwayne Morgan; one brother, Gerald Dwight Morgan; and one grandchild, Kayla Jo Hancock.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 4, 2024, between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
