Billy Joe Elam, 72, of Montpelier, IN, formerly of Monticello, KY, passed away at 11:35 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his residence in Montpelier. He was born on Wednesday, January 21, 1948, in Wayne County, KY. He married Ann M. (Thompson) Elam on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 in Hartford City, IN. Billy was a 1966 graduate of Woodford High School in Kentucky. After high school, he continued his education for 1 year in college. He worked at Sheller Globe for many years. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, watching sports, and playing with his dogs. He was a big Kentucky Basketball fan. Mr. Elam was baptized in the Sandusky Chapel Church.
Loving survivors include his Wife - Ann M. (Thompson) Elam, Montpelier, IN., Daughter - Cynthia Elam, Monticello, KY., Son - Shane Elam, Montpelier, IN., Daughter - Latisha Marshall, Montpelier, IN., Daughter - Stephanie Cook, Montpelier, IN., 10 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Father - Earl C. Elam, Mother - Lizzie (Watson) Elam, Brother - Norman Elam, Sister - Patricia Elam Hayden, and Brother - David Earl Elam.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with Rev. Dewey Zent officiating.
