Bill Atkinson was born December 1, 1929 and departed this life Saturday, October 17, 2020 reaching the age of 90 years. He was the son of the late Odie and Elsie (Edwards) Atkinson.

He married Lois (Harmon) Atkinson and to this union 1 child was born.

He is survived by: his wife, Lois Atkinson; 1 daughter, Regina (Gary) Abbott; 2 brothers, Harold Atkinson and Bro. Harvey Atkinson; 2 grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Deforest and Brooke Marchal; 2 great grandchildren, Elijah James Deforest and Evie Rose Deforest; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Marie Carter, Joyce Piercy and Barbara Atkinson; and 1 brother, Kenneth Atkinson.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 5 pm until 8 pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 1 pm at the Keen's Chapel Church with burial to follow in the Taylor's Grove Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
