Obituary

Betty Carter Stinson was born August 30, 1934, and passed away unexpectedly at her home in Powersburg, departing this life to move on to her eternal home on December 13, 2021. She was 87 years old.

Betty was the daughter of the late Lonnie (Bud) and Hattie Carter.

She is survived by: two sons; Harold (Carol) Stinson, Jerry (Lisa) Stinson, five daughters; Shelia (Tom) Clark, Shirley (Carl) Cooper, Gloria (Roger) Neal, Alma Slaven, Melinda (Ken) Hatfield, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, brothers, sisters; along with a host of family and friends that mourn her passing.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, her husband, one daughter (Margaret Huddleston), a son in law, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Betty attended The Jesus Name Apostolic Church faithfully the majority of her adult life. She was a kind, soft-spoken soul and devout Christian who loved her church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 16, 2021 between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Dishman Cemetery.
