Betty Jean Smith was born April 26, 1931 and departed this life Monday, December 8, 2014 reaching the age of 83 years. She was the daughter of the late William Harvey "Bill" and Hattie (Hoover) Edwards.

She married Dallas Smith, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by: two daughters, Betty Kaser and Jeanette Stults; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by: two brothers, Ed and J. B. Edwards; and three sisters, Wilma Wooten, Lucille Smith, and Joyce Ellis; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2014 after 12pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 1pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
