Betty Jean Morris

Betty Jean Chriswell Morris was born September 5, 1938, and departed this life Wednesday, July 1, 2026, reaching the age of 87 years. She was the daughter of the late Goldman and Ethel Carrender Chriswell.

She is survived by: two stepchildren, Katrina Thorton and Monroe Allison; one niece, June Dobbs; one nephew, Allen Reed Dobbs; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

Betty joined Eller Chapel Methodist Church at a very early age. She lived her life for God.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
