Betty Jean Morris

Betty Jean Chriswell Morris was born September 5, 1938 reaching the age of 87 years old. She passed away on July 1st 2026. She was the daughter of the late Ethel Mae Carrender Chriswell and Goldmon N. Chriswell.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Katrina Thorton (Lindsey) of Georgia and her stepson, Monroe Allison(Lynn) of Georgia, one niece, June Dobbs(Gary) of Monticello, Ky, and two nephews, Allen Dobbs(Jamie) of Ferguson, Ky and Jerry Keeton of Monticello, Ky. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Margie Chriswell, Lillian Jones, and Oma Lee Dobbs and one brother, Charlie Chriswell. She is also preceded in death by one niece, Eva Nadine Keeton, one nephew, Jeffrey Dobbs, and one brother-in-law Wilburn Jones.

She was saved at age 10 and was a member of the Eller’s Chapel Methodist Church. She lived her life for God and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed her. She loved her family and friends so much. That was her life.

She leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
