BETTY OPALENE POORE KENNEDY was born April 6th, 1935 and departed this life Thursday, July 26th, 2007 reaching the age of 72 years. She was the daughter of the late Willie Poore and Ina Brown.

She was united in marriage to Samuel Leon Kennedy, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter-Barbara Beaty (Danny) of Trenton, OH and two sons-Jerry and Leon Kennedy of Monticello, KY. She is survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother-William "Bill" Brown and one sister-Allie Decker, both of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Samuel Kennedy, one son-Terry Wayne Kennedy, two brothers-Sherrill and Charlie Brown and one sister-Myrt Stringer.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Betty Kennedy Memorial Fund at the funeral home.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Sunday, July 29th, 2007.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Monday, July 30th, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Old Charity Baptist Church Cemetery.
