BETTY SOUTHWOOD DEANE was born August 22nd, 1931 in Wayne County, Kentucky and departed this life Thursday, May 29th, 2003, reaching the age of 71 years. She was the daughter of Eskel Southwood and Bertha Bell Southwood.

She was united in marriage to Billy Deane and to this union three children were born.

She is survived by one daughter-Loretta Sue Starnes of Louisville, KY and Larry Deane of Noonan, Georgia. She is survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her mother-Bertha Southwood, six brothers-Sonny Southwood of Albany, KY, Curtis Southwood of Oklahoma City, OK, Russell Southwood of Indianapolis, IN, Eskil Southwood, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Bob Southwood of Indianapolis, IN, Randy Southwood of Monticello, KY and three sisters-Dottie McClane of Monticello, KY, Carol Bennett of Indianapolis, IN and Janet McQueary of Russell Springs, KY, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father-Eskil Southwood, her husband Billy Deane, one son-Jerry Deane, and one sister-Neta Richardson.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, relative and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 4:30 PM on Friday, May 30th, 2003 in the chapel.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Saturday, May 31st at 1 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery.
