Betty Loretta Burnett was born March 25 th , 1945 in Wayne County and departed this life Saturday, December 8 th , 2018 reaching the age of 73 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Lindsey) Lowe; daughter-in-law, Debbie Geralds; special cousin, Janet W. Thompson, all of Monticello; also, two step-daughters, Donna (Kenny) Bottom of Danville, KY, Wilma (Jeff) Masoner of Somerset, KY; one step-son, Stan (Joetta) Burnett of Burnside, KY; 8 step grandchildren, Trenton, Philip, Billy, Josh, Stephanie, Sarah, Terra and Hannah; 6 step great-grandchildren; 3 Sisters, Rita Custer of Greenfield, IN, Louise Simpson of New Castle, IN and Pauline McGinnis of Campbellsville, KY; 4 Brothers, Mike Simpson of Muncie, IN, Bill Dishman of Campbellsville, KY, Lonnie Dishman of Hodgenville, KY and Grady (Grace) Dishman of Monticello, KY; and many other family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her mother, Lena Simpson; grandparents, James Floyd and Bonnie Denney; and her father Tommie Dishman, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Burnett; one son, Michael Geralds; one grandson, Gregory Bryant Lowe; 4 Brothers, Marty Simpson, Trimble, Delmer and Donnie Dishman.
Betty was a faithful member of Mt. Victory Baptist Church in Russell Springs, KY until her death. Betty loved life, her family and friends, and helping others was her greatest joy. What a privilege it has been to know Betty, let us all remember the love and kindness she gave to each of us and strive to live a Christian life so we can all be together again.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2018 between 5pm - 8pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
