Bessie Sutton was born July 22, 1934 and departed this life Tuesday, February 5, 2013 reaching the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Asberry and Ada (Winningham) Watson.

She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Sutton and to this union 2 children were born.

She is survived by: 1 daughter, Billie Sutton; 1 son, Montie Sutton; 5 grandchildren, Tiffany Ferrell, Jared Duncan, Chantica Troxell, Courtney Duncan, and Miles Sutton; and 4 great grandchildren, Brennan Morin, Ema Troxell, Eilise Troxell, and Aubrey Cooper and 1 baby girl on the way. She is also survived by: 3 sisters, Stella Sexton, Myrtie Daniels, and Lela Lewis; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Alfred and Ada Watson, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Bill Sutton; 2 brothers, Elbert and Shell Watson; and 3 sisters, Lizzie Elam, Laura Martin and 1 who died in infancy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 12 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Gray and Bro. Dennis Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
