BENNIE D. BERTRAM, was born November 2, 1931 and departed this life September 14, 2005 reaching the age of 73 years. He was the son of the late George Bertram and Ida Catron Bertram.

He was united in marriage to Lois Ann Brown on June 3, 1952 and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Bertram of Monticello; one son, Greg Bertram of Monticello; one daughter, Lisa Lawrence of Monticello; three grandchildren, Ronnie Bertram, David Guffey, and Benjamin Lawrence; three great grandchildren, Dylan and Bayley Bertram and Andrew Guffey; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ida Bertram; and three sisters, Glenneth Hancock, Lucy Sexton, and Vera Bertram.

Bennie lived his entire life in Wayne County where he farmed and traded cattle. His last several years had been spent enjoying his family and friends. As a teenager, Bennie received Christ a his Savior and he was a member of Gap Creek Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: Friday, September 16th after 5 pm and Saturday, September 17th after 8 am
Funeral Service: Saturday, September 17th at 1 pm
Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery
