Barbara Sue Ramsey was born April 8, 1948, and departed this life Thursday, July 23, 2026, reaching the age of 78 years. She was the daughter of the late Whitt and Neva (Perkins) Dean.

She married the love of her life, Tommy Joe Ramsey and to this union three children were born. Barbara and Tommy shared 55 wonderful years together.

She is survived by: one son, Darin Ramsey (Rusty Handlon); two daughters, Tonya Ramsey Abeln (Kris) and Crystal Ramsey; two grandchildren, Luke and Todd Abeln. She is also survived by: three sisters, Ann Fay Guffey, Bonnie Riley and Karen Southwood; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by: six brothers, Randall, David, Roger, Donald, Freddie, and Danny Jay Dean; and two sisters, Donna Parmley and Imogene Keeton.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Davis Chapel Cemetery.
