Barbara Sue Peavie, age 83, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at her residence in Monticello, KY after a lengthy illness surrounded by Hospice and loved ones. She was born in Alpha, KY on September 11, 1941, the daughter of Henry and Myrtle Choate Massengale. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and became a member at Davis Chapel Methodist church where she remained a faithful attendee until her health no longer permitted.

She married Gene Peavie on December 10, 1960, and to this union two sons were born: Scott Eugene Peavie and Shawn James Peavie.

She is survived by her husband Gene, daughter-in-law, Pattie Peavie and brother Gary Massengale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both her sons Scott Eugene and Shawn James Peavie, brother Jackie Massengale and sister Pat Gregory.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024, between 10 am – 3 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, at 3 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
