Obituary
AVO STEPHENS HICKS was born November 10th, 1952 in Monticello, KY and departed this life Friday, December 26th, 2008 reaching the age of 56 years. She was the daughter of the late John Stephens and Pearlie Fulton Stephens.
She is survived by her husband Harold and one daughter-Kista Hicks. She is also survived by two brothers-Frank and George Stephens, both of Monticello, KY and six sisters-Georgia Hancock, Elgie Carter, Lucie Stinson, Ora Jan Piercy and Joyce Lowe, all of Monticello, KY and Velma Lee Burton of Indiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers-Billy, Eddie and Rosco Stephens and two sisters-Myrtie Stephens and Sara Belle Adkins.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Monday, December 29th, 2008.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Gap Creek Cemetery.
