Arnold Odell Sumpter was born May 21, 1931 and departed this life Monday, October 6, 2008 reaching the age of 77 years. He was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Doss) Sumpter.

He was united in marriage Janette Abbott and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife- Janette Sumpter of Monticello, KY, 2 daughters- Robin (Bruce) Stiffler of North Carolina and Renee Adams of Monticello, KY, and 7 grandchildren- Amanda, Jennifer, Dean, Miranda, Makala, Jacob, and Blake, and 1 great grandchild- Avery. He is also survived by: 2 sisters- Linda Jones of Burnside, KY and Sharon McClain of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 1 son- Terry Sumpter, 2 brothers- Billy and Rex Sumpter, 3 sisters- twins who died in infancy and Janice Bridgeman.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
