Anna Ruth Kennedy was born August 21, 1943 and departed this life Sunday, January 15, 2017 reaching the age of 73 years. She was the daughter of the late Guy Decker, Sr. and Ruth V. (Anderson) Decker.

She is survived by: her husband, Mintford Kennedy; her children: Deborah Scott (Robby), Michele Goane (Scott), Roger Kennedy (Kim); Brenda Kennedy, Linda Hicks, Gladys Kennedy, Maxine Looper and Diane Stinson (Johnny); 25 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by: one brother, Guy Decker, Jr; one sister, Margaret Dale; brother-in-law, Ronnie Kennedy (Margie); sister-in-law, Kathy Easterly; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Guy and Ruth Decker, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Decker.

She spent her childhood traveling all over the world while her father served in the Army. Her favorite place was Japan. She received her LPN in 1963. She worked several years in New Jersey, Kentucky and California. She finished her career in Kentucky in 2004.

She enjoyed cheering on the UK Cats, spending time with her family and her favorite treats were Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Strawberry shakes.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2017 after 6 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
