Anita Faye Jones Kidd was born December 13, 1940 to Robert Edwin Jones and Ella Mae Upchurch Jones in Monticello, KY.

Anita married Joe Edwin Kidd on June 24, 1961.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her brother Bobby Kay, sister Betty June and her parents Robert and Ella Mae, and grandparents James Roscoe and Mary Elizabeth Jones and Marcus and Amanda Upchurch.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Lillian Meece and her husband Wayne Meece, her aunt Wilma Raines, her uncle Willard Jones and his wife Doris, several cousins and many friends.

Anita graduated from Monticello High School in 1958. She attended Bowling Green Business University in 1959. She worked for Dr. Mack Roberts, Dr. W. R. Tuttle, J. M. Richardson Flooring and Jack Shearer Insurance Company.

In 1967 she moved to Glasgow and worked for an insurance company there until 1996. She returned to Monticello and worked at First Southern Bank until her retirement in 1998.

Anita attended Glasgow First Church of the Nazarene, where she played the piano and organ, and taught Sunday School. In 1998, she received the Kentucky District Teacher of the Year award.

Anita was a faithful member of the Monticello Church of the Nazarene for many years. She also taught Sunday School and played the piano and organ.

She accepted Christ at age 12 and served the Lord until her death. She loved her Lord and people. She enjoyed reading and doing needle work.

Anita loved to talk on the phone to her friends. Anita, with her beautiful smile, will be greatly missed by her church family and friends.


The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 12, 2015 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 2pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
