Obituary

Andrew Jackson "Jack" McIntyre was born February 4th, 1936 in Wayne County, KY and departed this life Thursday, August 29th, 2002, reaching the age of 66 years. He was the son of the late Andrew J. and Nell Caylor McIntyre.

He was united in marriage to Marlene Norfleet McIntyre and to this union one child was born.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years Marlene McIntyre and one loving daughter-Elizabeth Ann McIntyre of Miamisburg, OH; sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Howard Dykes of Mt. Juliet, TN, nieces Margie (Dykes) and husband Steve Smith and their children Andrew, Sarah and Rachel; and Jackie (Dykes) and husband Keith Chafin, all of East TN; uncle Ed L. Caylor and aunt Elizabeth Caylor of Monticello; cousins Kay Kelley, Claudia Scott, Tommy Caylor, Pattie Secada and Linda Tate; mother-in-law Mary Norfleet; sister and brother-in-law Doris (Norfleet) and Phillip York, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Annette Norfleet, all of Monticello, brother and sister-in-law Oscar and Susie Norfleet of Loveland, OH; and sister and brother-in-law Brenda (Norfleet) and Ray Shrader of Mason, OH, two nieces, two nephews, one great-nephew and two great-nieces, as well as numerous other cousins and friends to mourn his passing.

Mr. McIntyre attended Eastern KY University and was a graduate of Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY with a B.A. Degree in education and later furthered his studies at Wright State University. He was a teacher and an occupational work experience coordinator at Miamisburg High School for 24-1/2 years where he worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of his students. He also served as a volunteer for the Probation Dept. of the Montgomery County Juvenile Court. He was a two-year veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. McIntyre was a member of the Grand Lodge of KY, F&A.M. #431; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Antioch Temple of Dayton; Antioch Mound Shine Club (Charter member,past sec'y-treasurer); Mound High Twelve Club #217; Sons of the Confederate Veterans; and holds the commission of Colonel in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Mr. McIntyre professed his faith in Christ by joining the First Baptist Church in Monticello, KY at the age of eleven.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation: The family will receive friends locally after 5 PM on Monday, September 2nd in the chapel.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 3rd at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
