Amy Jo Anna Acrey, age 42 of Monticello, KY passed away Sunday February 16, 2014. She was born in New Castle, IN, and was the daughter of Vitina Hancock Laymance and Larry D. Laymance (deceased).
Amy went to Shenandoah High School, then IU East to pursue a degree in English. She was a published author of poetry and an artist who enjoyed acrylic painting. She loved music and art of all kinds. She was an animal lover and was preceded in death by Okee Sue last October. Her move to Kentucky was an opportunity for Amy to further develop her painting and drawing skills. She was currently working on a portrait of her grandparents at the time of her passing.
Amy will be greatly missed. Many friends and family have reached out to express their condolences and all of you should know that she loved each and every one of you.
Amy is survived by her mother, and sisters Teresa (Tim) Denny of New Castle, Indiana and Mellissa (Michael) Cain of Pendleton, Indiana. Surviving nephews and niece include Timothy Denny, Dylan Cain, Tayli Denny, and great nephew Noah Denny.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Monticello, KY.
