Amanda Christine Atkinson was born April 1, 1947, and departed this life Wednesday, June 4, 2025, reaching the age of 78 years. She was the daughter of the late Preston and Rosie Lee (Dishman) Bell.

She is survived by: her husband of 60 years, Bro. Harvey Atkinson; two daughters, Karen Campbell (significant other, Brian Burkhart) and Shelia Davis (David Davis); four grandchildren, Skylar Dishman, Makayla Crowder, Mallory Campbell, and Sierria Price; and four great grandchildren, Dove Dishman, Camden Crowder, River Dishman, Teagan Price and one on the way, Baby Beckett Crowder.

She is also survived by: three brothers, Jack, Jim and Jessie Bell; and three sisters, Nettie Bell, Cora Lopez, and Flora Griffin; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Preston and Rosie Bell, she was preceded in death by: siblings, John Bell, Lena Kidd, Nadine Bell, Annie Bell, Mary Bell, Betty Bell and Laura Bell.

Christine was born into a large family having 5 sets of twins and 4 singles.  She was a twin herself.  She loved singing for the Lord and her family was her pride and joy.  Her dumplings could not be beat. She had one of the best green thumbs for flowers and we know she is enjoying all the beautiful flower gardens in Heaven.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
