Alonzo Allen Sr., born February 3, 1934, peacefully departed this life on March 26, 2026.
Alonzo was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Lena (Napier) Allen, with whom he shared 70 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love, faith, and commitment. Together, they built a strong family foundation that continues to carry on his legacy.
He was a proud and loving father to three children: Nancy (Allen Carpenter), Alonzo "Lonnie" Allen Jr. (Tonya), and Robert Leon (Michelle). Alonzo was also blessed with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Alonzo loved Jesus and lived his life as a reflection of that devotion. He was a longtime and faithful member of St. John AME Church in Monticello, Kentucky, where he found spiritual strength and community.
Alonzo honorably served his country with a two-year term in the United States Army. Following his service, he demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit, investing in rental properties for many years. Known for his fairness and kindness, many of his tenants became long-term and repeat renters, a testament to the relationships he built and the respect he earned.
Alonzo loved to laugh, talk, and eat—bringing warmth, joy, and lively conversation wherever he went. In his leisure time, he also enjoyed fishing and golfing, simple pleasures that brought him peace and happiness.
Above all, Alonzo loved his family and others deeply. His presence, wisdom, and steady spirit will be truly missed by all who knew him.
The family sincerely appreciates the outpouring of kind words, love, and support during this time. As they grieve, they lean on the Lord for comfort and strength.
Alonzo Allen Sr.’s life was one of faith, love, and service—a legacy that will live on for generations to come.
