Alice G. Slusher was born October 1 ^st , 1942, and departed this life on Saturday, March 18 ^th , 2023, having reached the age of 80 years. She was the daughter of the late Stoney Edwin "Eddie" and Marie (Gregory) Huffaker.

She is survived by: 2 daughters, Tessy (Baron) Bodner and Leanne (Leland) Casada; 7 grandchildren, Lindsey Clark (Roman) Wright, Kara Clark (Kyle) Bugg, Alex (Brittany) Cook, Benjamin (Roxanne) Cook, Andrew Clark, Dusty Huff, and Leah Duncan.  She's also survived by 8 great-grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Eddie & Marie Huffaker, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Mike Clark, and sister Ruth Luttrell.

Alice spent many years working as a medical assistant in Monticello.  She began her career in 1984 and retired after nearly three decades of service at the age of 69.

One of her passions was the piano.  In her earlier years she taught piano out of her home while she was a stay-at-home mom with her daughters.  She was also a long-time pianist and member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

As an extension of her service and ministry, she was a long-time supporter of the Lake Cumberland Boys Camp and the Mt. View Baptist Camp.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 5-8pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12noon in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Huffaker and Bro. Rick Catron officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:  Mt. View Baptist Camp.
