Agnes Butler Elam was born November 5, 1946 and departed this life Saturday, April 13, 2019 reaching the age of 79 years. She was the daughter of the late Delmer and Juanita (Hill) Butler.

She is survived by: her husband, Sam Elam; son, Timothy Clark (Pam); daughters, Amy Elam, Pollyanna Hood (John Stewart), and Lisa Meadows (Anthony Crouch); one sister, Pat Butler; seven grandchildren, Sammie Jean Elam, Michael Clark, Samantha Clark, Victoria Hood, Juanita Elam, Sara Sullivan, and Joni Meadows. She is also survived by her pets, Ling, Sqooshi, Prissy, Baby, Buddy, and Sally; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to her parents, Delmer and Juanita Butler, she was preceded in death by: two sons, Ernest Ray Clark and Sam Elam; and two brothers, Kenny Butler and Larry Butler.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Gap Creek Cemetery.
